Madison County Iowa and surrounding area attractions:  
There is plenty to see and do if you don't want to party with us all day
and night.  We are very close to several of the famous
"Covered Bridges of Madison County", and there are many other
things to see and do.
The Bridges of Madison County
Originally boasting 19 covered bridges, five remain today, all listed on the National Register of
Historic Places.  These bridges are  dated back to the 1800's.
Francesca's House
Made famous by the book, "The Bridges of Madison County"   Located in the northeast corner
of the county, the house had been abandoned for over 35 years and was fully restored for the
film. The house was damaged by an arson fire on October 6, 2003 and is no longer open for
tours.
The Hawgstock Motorcycle Rally is located on the banks of the Middle River in the heart of
the Middle River Valley.

Pammel State Park
Formally a State Park facility now managed by the Madison County Conservation Board since
1989, was one of the first State Parks to be established in Iowa and was originally dedicated
in 1928.
