* FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS *
What is a Poker Run?
A Poker Run is an organized motorcycle event where riders travel
over a prescribed course and at designated stopping points and
select a poker card. At the end of the run, the person or persons with
the best poker hand or hands, wins the prize or prizes.
Where is Hawgtock located?
Hawgstock is located at 2497 225th in Winterset, Iowa. Hawgstock
is just SW of Des Moines, Iowa. Central Iowa. Please see the
"Maps page" for further details.
What does it cost?
You must be 21 with a valid photo ID. Hawgstock charges $35.00
per person for the weekend at the gate. ($30.00 per person in
advance pre-pay option available through August 20, 2007) This
includes camping, bands, entertainment and showers.
Support Vehicles $30.00, Trailers $20.00, Motorhomes $50.00
Food, Ice, Beverages and vendor items will also be for sale on
premise. (There are no 1 day passes, armbands are good for the
weekend whether you come for the day or the entire weekend)
What is a Shower Stage?
The shower stage was originated by Chief himself and started at a
party in his garage. The original stage was constructed out of
scaffold, covered with plywood, complete with dancer pole and an
adjustable temp shower head, hand held unit of course. There is a
picture of the stage in the photo section.
What is a support vehicle fee?
Hawgstock considers any vehicle other than a motorcycle a support
vehicle. If you want to drive a car, or truck to the rally that is fine,
however you will be charged the extra $30.00 support vehicle fee for
parking on Hawgstock grounds for the weekend. ***Your vehicle will
NOT be allowed in the camp area.***
If you would like to take your vehicle into the camp area you would
not be charged the $30.00 support vehicle fee but you would be
charged the $50.00 motorhome fee and your vehicle would remain
in the same area as the motorhomes, not in the tent area with the
bikes.
What is the trailer fee?
Hawgstock considers a trailer to be a trailer used to haul motorcycles
or camping accessories, towed behind a support vehicle "car or
truck". The trailer would cost an additional $20.00 to park on
Hawgstock grounds for the weekend. ***Your trailer would not be
allowed in the camp area.*** This is in addition to the support
vehicle charge and general admission.
If you drive a truck or car and are pulling a camper or 5th wheel you
would pay the motorhome fee $50.00 in addition to general
admission of $30.00 per person.
Those of you with motorcyles pulling trailers, (storage or pop up
motorcycle camp trailers) will not be charged a trailer fee.
Why the extra support vehicle & trailer fees?
This is a motorcycle rally! The fees have been imposed to provide
a parking area as well as to protect the motorcycle riders and
pedestrians in the camping area. Mainly to limit the car and truck
traffic in and out of Hawgstock.
Will we be allowed to take our support vehicle in to the camp
area just to unload? NO, support vehicles without motorhome
passes will remain in the parking area. There will be a shuttle
service available for moving items from the parking area to the
camping area.
What are colors?
Colors are a reference to organized groups of riders. Colors are
patches worn by these groups. Examples of patch wearers are
Vietnam Veterans, Christian Motorcycle Association, Sons of
Silence, and many, many more. If you are concerned with the
"colors" please do some research on these organizations. These
are not the "stereo typed biker gangs" of the past. These are
organizations that are for the most part working to promote good
things in our society.
Who rides motorcycle?
Men and women alike ride motorcycles today. The average age of
a Harley rider today is 37. Harley Davidson motorcycles cost
between $16,000 and $24,000 for a stock bike off the show room
floor. Many of the custom bikes are considerably more expensive.
For the most part riders are responsible citizens, a little known fact
is that alot of riders today are doctors, lawyers, police men, fire
fighters, and business owners, amazingly ordinary people.
UNKNOWN THINGS ARE THE MOST FEARED!

If I don't ride a Harley, can we come?
YES you can attend, this is a motorcycle event, not just a Harley
event. We respect "RIDERS". All makes of motorcycles are
welcome!
Is there additional parking available for less?
YES you can park off site! There are several parking areas
available to choose from. We hear they are charging less than
Hawgstock parking!!!!
Is Hawgstock relocating?
NO! Hawgstock will be held the same place as the 2005, 2006
rallies. It is true that eventually we would like to get a larger piece
of ground, but then again everyone has a dream! We have heard
that our rally reminds people of the old Freedom Rally - when it was
still in Humboldt Iowa. We take that as a compliment, as we
attended that rally ourselves for years and always had a great time.
A bit friendlier and cozier than most these days.
Have Chief & Cat sold thier place in Winterset?
LOL, how do these rumors get started???? NO, NO, NO!!!!
We have not sold and don't have plans to! We enjoy our country
home and the neighbors as well. It is true that the place has been
grown up, much more than usual. We have been asked by a friend
to let the grass grow for some hay. It should be a bit more
presentable by the end of June!
Has Chief had an accident? NO! We are not even sure how that
one got started. Be assured that Chief and his dresser "Babs" are
both fine! Thanks for all the concern!!!!
