We made it home with no trouble. Left Tulsa on the 22nd around 10
am. I should say Tom made it home with no trouble. After unloading
the Morgans, we Martins got stuck in his driveway & finally had to break
down & go ask him to get dressed again & help us. My van has
rear-wheel drive, but no rear-wheel weight :( And even as we settle back
into life at home, Shaun is happy to have buried his car in the drift in front
of the house. It's gonna be a bit of shoveling to get through those
drifts. Anyway, obviously, we are home now. Not a welcoming sight
... the critters have made a heck of a mess, with paper
everywhere. Sadly we find no sign of Mom & Dad's love bird,
LT. His house broke off from it's roof, & I suspect he had the aid of
cats. In one stroke of life's cruelty, Mom has lost her entire
household. We haven't told her about LT. That will have to wait
awhile.
Mom is recuperating from surgery fine. She had dialysis Friday.
They have begun the process of weaning her from the vent. Soon, I hope,
she will have the tubes out of her mouth, & will be able to begin working
her vocal cords. I gave her permission to yell at her doctors, if she felt
the need to do so. Don't think she'll use that permission, but ...
With lots left to do, we say good night ~ the families of Bob & Theresa
