In 2005, Bob & Theresa Morgan made their yearly trek to Sturgis, where
many of you may remember having seen them with TJ! Mid-week, they brought
the motorhome & antique motorcycles back to Burns, mounted their new bikes,
& joined the YM3 (Y M cubed) ride, so named for the seven folks, six
Harleys, and one lone black cocker spaniel that made the
journey. Bob Morgan, Theresa Morgan, TJ Morgan, Dewey Martin, Val
Martin, Morgan Martin, Ken Young, & Teresa Minnich. 1,250 miles
in five days. I was supposed to get patches made, but I never followed
through on that one.
If you ever did anything with Dad, you know how much fun this
trip was! We planned to repeat the event yearly, but life happened
& last year we weren't able to join up. And now it's one of those
events that is a shining memory for us, knowing that we had a great ride.
Just as many of you have expressed to us, Ken & Teresa were deeply
affected by the loss of Dad & TJ. They have ordered a brick from the
Sturgis Brick Project.
Dad & TJ will forever be seen on Main Street in Sturgis. If you make
it to Sturgis, you might look for them in the bricks, in the 2007 section
that is to be laid down this month.
If you happen to take a picture of yourselves
with the brick, please send it to us, if you don't mind. Dad loved
pictures with his friends in Sturgis. If you hear a Harley rumbling by as
you do it, you might listen for the yapping of Harley-loving cocker in
the distance!
Dad would tell you, if you attend Sturgis, register ... it's how they
determine how many people showed up. He liked to hear how many people
attended the Rally. And if you register, you can't help but see the
bricks. ~ Val
